About Kirsten

I have struggled with dyslexia all my life. In fourth grade, my parents and I found a certified dyslexia therapist near my home. I went to tutoring for two years, and learned how to deal with having dyslexia. Because of this experience, I decided I wanted to become a dyslexia tutor. I have a BA in education, have taught elementary school for six years, and have a Master’s Degree in psychology. In addition, I have had 40 hours of training in using the Orton-Gillingham method to teach other people who struggle with dyslexia. Based on my education, experience and specialized training, I am well-qualified to tutor other students who struggle with reading, especially those student who have dyslexia.
