Carly grew up surrounded by art having both parents as artists. Art is ingrained in her DNA.
For 12 years, she enjoyed being a teacher, and holds the following teaching certificates: Teacher of TV Production, Teacher of Audio Visual Broadcast Technology and Elementary Education. This has allowed her to teach TV Production, Broadcast Journalism, Videography and Photography to a multitude of students throughout the state of New Jersey since 2006. In 2017 and 2018, her Videography students took 2nd place in the New Jersey Young Filmmakers Festival. Currently, she is an adjunct Communications and Digital Media professor in New Jersey.
Teaching has provided Carly with the ability to work in different situations and with a diverse background of learners. This allowed her to grow personally and professionally. The most rewarding thing about teaching is seeing the growth of her students.
Her TV background includes majoring in Television Communications/Broadcast Journalism at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. Prior to graduating from William Paterson she completed an internship at both MTV Networks and FUSE in Manhattan. After graduation she worked at Fuse as a freelancer, then began her teaching career in September 2006 while continuing to freelance in the industry on the side. She received her Master of Science: Education Technology degree at Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2012.
