About Leticia

Hola! My name is Leticia Rodriguez and I am a native of the Republic of Panama. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Panama in 2002 and have eleven years of teaching middle school in my native country. I came to the U.S. in 2007 and in 2013 I received two Master’s degrees in teaching Spanish as a second language from University Interamericana in Puerto Rico and Spanish linguistics from the University of Jaen in Spain. In the metropolitan DC area, I taught Spanish AP at DCPS and for the last three years I taught Spanish I, II and IB Spanish at WMST-PCHS. For me, my passion is teaching and in sharing my culture with my students. I believe that every child deserves to live the experience of new cultures and it’s that challenge that motivates me as I begin my adventure at DC. When I’m not teaching, I love to cook for friends and family, listen to music, dance, attend Spanish cultural events and exercise. I
