I received my master’s-level TEFL certification in Florence, Italy in June of 2016, and have been teaching ESL at an intense pace ever since. I have over 375 classroom teaching hours (in Italy and U.S. combined), and have taught all levels from beginner to advanced. My students run the gamut of ages, from age 7 to age 60.

I have experience teaching English examination prep (such as TOEFL, Cambridge First, Cambridge PET, and University exams.) I use a number of teaching techniques and employ a combination of resources, including textbooks, video, music, and numerous conversation activities that I have culled from various sources.

My goal with each lesson is to achieve an 80/20 split between Student Talking Time and Teacher Talking Time. I emphasize comprehension over grammar, but I am well-trained in the teaching of English grammar. I aim to find what best suits your goals, learning style, and time constraints.

In addition to my TEFL certification, I possess a bachelor's in English literature from Boston College.

I am passionate about teaching the English language, and I am constantly fascinated by the science of language acquisition.
