I have been a full-time public school classroom teacher for the past five years, teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. While I teach all subjects, I have primarily taught math for the past 3 years, and consistently help my students achieve high scores on standardized math tests.
I received my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Boston College in 2010, and since have worked in a variety of school settings with students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. I have worked with a very diverse range of learners, including gifted students, students with learning disabilities, students with ADD and ADHD, students with Aspergers Syndrome, and English Language Learners. I absolutely love teaching and working with kids, and have a strong passion for education.
I also feel confident tutoring high school students in certain subjects - particularly the humanities and social sciences. I graduated cum laude from Tufts University in 2008 with a degree in Economics and a minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies.
I am a very strong writer. I have won many creative writing awards, and attribute much of my academic success to my writing abilities. In addition, I have a sincere passion for literature and love to read. Helping students improve their reading and writing abilities is an extremely rewarding job that I thoroughly enjoy.
I understand that a great teacher needs to be extremely patient, encouraging, and positive, but also set the bar high. I am naturally a patient, optimistic, and encouraging person, and really believe that everyone can achieve their goals. I try to instill this attitude in my all of my students, and enjoy watching their confidence grow as they achieve success and recognize their own abilities.
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I hope to hear from you!
