About Shuchi

Hi! Thanks for visiting my tutoring profile! My name is Shuchi and I am very excited to help you achieve your academic goals. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated from Boston University magna cum laude with a degree in Biomedical Engineering while taking pre-med classes. I am currently applying to medical schools while working as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Boston Medical Center.

While being premed and pursuing an engineering degree was definitely challenging, I was able to enjoy my courses by breaking down concepts into simple concepts and really think about the big picture. This quality allowed me to teach my fellow classmates effectively and I soon developed my passion for teaching. Throughout college, I have served as a teaching assistant for General Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Calculus, and Physiology where I helped students pass their classes with As. I really enjoy breaking down concepts that best fall in line with my students’ learning modality and cater my lessons accordingly. I am a firm believer that any subject can be accessible and interesting if it is properly explained. I have found that the teachers who best facilitate learning are the ones that break down complex concepts and make them relatable. I find common ground with a student, and give them reasons to be interested in the material they are learning. I help you or your child to improve grades, boost confidence, and gain mastery in the subject of interest.

Many people find high school and college math complicated and far from intuitive. I break down the hard problems into easier ones. Calculus problems can seem daunting, but with the proper step by step instruction, it is fairly simple to understand. I have taken and mastered Calculus I-IV in college and have taught high school and college students for the past 3 years.

On the 2015 MCAT, I scored 92nd percentile and YOU CAN TOO!! The MCAT is a beast of its own and completely doable with the right instruction. I help students to create a personalized study schedule that includes weekly and monthly study goals. I also help you develop a structured practice exam schedule optimized for your needs.

I am very enthusiastic about my work and always make learning fun filled with tricks and mnemonics so students remember concepts much better. What is most rewarding about the tutoring experience is when the student has that "aha" moment, and everything clicks for them. My schedule is quite flexible in an attempt to put my students first. We can meet whenever and wherever is more convenient for you since it is my wish to make a difference for the better when it comes to my students' education. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future!
