About Patti

Hello everyone! My name is Patti and I am proud to say I carry a 12 -year experience teaching ESL for foreign students of all ages and different cultural backgrounds. Even though I was born in the US, I moved to Brazil as a child, where a passion for building a bridge between English and other languages was born. After graduating from Universidade Ibero-Americana in São Paulo with a Bachelor’s Degree in English-Portuguese focused on Translating and Interpreting, I started my career in Brazil helping businessman and women learn English to better their careers. By word-of-mouth my reputation spread out and I taught students ranging from high school students to CEOs from Fortune 500 companies!

In 2009, when I moved back to the US, I started working as a
freelance English-Portuguese translator and interpreter, of which I have now accumulated 10 of hands-on experience.

In 2016 I started a different and exciting journey, and delved into the world of online teaching! Since then I have taught kids, teenagers and adults from all over China from the comfort of my home - anywhere from 3am to 7am, while my entire family sleeps! I love that I get to experience a cultural exchange being part of the lives of Chinese students! To this day I have taught 1,500 students from home- if you doubt it I promise I can prove it! Haha

Whether you need help learning English because you will or have recently moved to an English-speaking country, need to pass the TOEFL exam, or simply want to work on accent reduction classes, I would love to help you! I promise classes will be fun - NO ONE has a good time learning something they find boring. That’s why my classes are fun, dynamic, and interactive!
