I am an Illinois State certified CPS instructor with a Type 10 endorsement in Visual Arts and Special Education. I also hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an Emphasis in Art Education from The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago. Immediately after graduation, I went on to become the Lead Art Instructor for the 2009-‐2010 academic year at Rudy Lozano Leadership Academy adjoined with The Institute Of Latino Progress, which focuses on Adult Education, Workforce Development and Youth Services serving communities in Pilsen and Little Village.
I have extensive experience working with a diverse population of both adults and children in a variety of subjects ranging from Drawing, Painting, History, Science, Language Arts, Mathematics and Reading Comprehension. Currently, I work part-‐time at two art studios in Chicago. I am the Lead Art Instructor for a children’s art studio in Lincoln Park as well as a Senior Adult Art Instructor at an art studio and store located in Wicker Park. I also teach individual, private art lessons to a handful of personal clients around the Chicago Metropolitan area. Whether I’m teaching Art or Algebra, my main objective as an instructor is to provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters learning, independence and self-‐esteem. Working collaboratively to design compelling curriculum while integrating a multi-‐ cultural/cross disciplinary approach to instructing, motivating and inspiring students is paramount to my teaching philosophy in all areas and subjects.
