Hi! I'm Sherri and currently, I attend the University of West Florida majoring in Elementary Education and I anticipate graduating in 2018. I have tutored numerous elementary aged students in Reading and Math as a SES (Supplemental Education Services) tutor for Escambia County, Florida. These students required remedial tutoring because of scoring poorly on standardized tests. As a Reading Interventionist, I worked with five groups of students teaching them Phonics, Reading, Grammar and Vocabulary using the method developed by Dr. Beverly Tiner. I have assisted several teachers in their classroom as a teacher's assistant teaching Math, Science and Reading. Prior to pursuing my degree, I kept children of all ages in my home as a registered child care provider and I taught kindergarten curriculum as a part of our daily schedule. I have also tutored college aged students as a private tutor. I am passionate about teaching and I believe that each student should be given the opportunity to learn and thrive inside and outside of the classroom.
