Qualifications & Experience

From the time I was a teenager, I have always had an interest in science, wanting to know and understand everything. To satisfy my curiosity, I studied many different subjects in high school and during my college years, including molecular biology, chemistry, math and physics. Having this broad scientific background gave me an appreciation for how all things are connected. As time passed, I discovered that my true fascination was, and still is to this day, to unravel the mysteries of life. My graduate studies were therefore focused on life sciences.

During my Ph.D. studies, I learned how to apply computational analyses and multivariate statistical methods to investigate the role of chemicals, genes and proteins in different organisms. With the explosive growth of data (both genetic sequences and protein function), computers have been instrumental in helping us understand and make sense of biological systems.

After finishing my university studies., I moved to Melbourne, Australia where I performed research in chemical engineering, as well as supervised students and gave lectures in the subject of pharmaceutical engineering. My research work has been fruitful and led to a number of scientific publications throughout the years. I have, however, come to realize that my true passion is teaching.

With a Masters degree in Molecular Biology and PhD in Bioinformatics, I am a multidisciplinary scientist with the ability to teach and tutor different scientific subjects including Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, Algebra and high school physics.
