I am a flexible and organized educational professional with more than 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. Because I have worked with students from the elementary school to college levels, I have developed an unparalleled ability to clarify complicated mathematical concepts in an easily understandable manner. I am an expert at using varied teaching strategies and tools to engage students effectively, and fostering a fun and fascinating learning environment. My teaching style leans towards being exceptionally patient and encouraging; while providing individualized and extracurricular support for students that are struggling with learning new concepts or who need remediation in order to move forward. I love teaching and tutoring because I am fanatical about helping students dramatically improve their performance in mathematics.
I received a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa. I hold a Florida Professional Educator's Certification from the State of Florida Department of Education in both Mathematics 5-9 and 6-12 with endorsements in Differentiated Instruction, Reading, Gifted Student Instruction and ESOL. I currently teach Honors Algebra I and Honors Geometry at a local high school in the Miami area, and can provide tutoring services for students needing help with Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Statistics and Trigonometry. College level tutoring is available in Intermediate Algebra, Mathematics for the Liberal Arts, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus Algebra, and Statistical Methods.
