I earned a master's of humanities from the University of Chicago. I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's in English literature from the University of Colorado Denver.

In my tutoring, I emphasize personalization, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the particular student. My style is not to overwhelm the student, but to work on their problem areas one at a time in incrementally challenging ways. I am adept at recognizing the struggles an individual student experiences and talking them through to a solution. Highlighting the student’s strengths is another essential tool is use to build confidence in the subject, self-doubt often being the greatest obstacle between the student and success. I have considerable experience with the verbal and analytic writing sections of the GRE exam. Having twice excelled in these sections twice and having tutoring numerous students, I have developed a solid set of techniques for coaching a student to GRE excellence.
