Originally from Melbourne, Australia, I've been living in the U.S. since 2009. For the past 10 years, I've been teaching and tutoring at elementary schools in Australia, New York and Los Angeles and I currently teach at a private school in Los Angeles.

I have worked with children as young as two (Pre-K) and as old as thirteen (8th grade) in both progressive and traditional schools, across all subjects. Being exposed to this range of students has enabled me to develop an extremely individual approach to tutoring and the skills necessary to help all students.

For me, the most important aspect of tutoring is building a working rapport with the student. That means taking the time to get to know them, their specific learning style, and any skills, work habits or character traits that may be holding the student back. Many students I have worked with already have the skills necessary to do well but lack the tools or confidence to execute in the classroom. So I bridge the gap and teach my students strategies that enable them to become fully independent learners and doers.

When I was in elementary school, I loved learning from teachers who valued creativity and real world application. That is why I endeavor to make my lessons as fun and relevant as possible.
