Hello! My name is Blake. I am a recent graduate of UCSD. I received my major in Bioinformatics, a field at the intersection of Biology and Computer Science. Throughout my time in high school and college, I had numerous experiences with tutoring several peer students in subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Organic Chemistry, and Computer Programming. I was hired by UCSD as a tutor for Organic Chemistry my Junior year and received highly rated reviews for my skills as a tutor. My teaching method thus far has been to facilitate the students understanding and comprehension of the subject they are trying to learn, intervening with alternate ways of communicating the concepts and giving hints only when it appears evident that the student has thought through the ideas as best he or she can. I am passionate about improving my tutoring skills and giving others a deep understanding of not only the subject they want to understand, but teaching others better ways of learning how to learn any subject they want!
