About Eric

Hello! My name's Eric, and I'm an experienced tutor who loves to teach and to help people understand math. I'm new to the HeyTutor platform, and am excited to find some new students ... my teaching philosophy is all about finding out what your goals and needs are, and then adapting my approach to help you get there as quickly (and painlessly) as possible! Some of my past students have been people who hate math (or at least thought they did :) ) and were forced to take a test or a class for one reason or another, and others have been people studying advanced math that wanted some one-on-one discussion ... wherever you fall on that spectrum, my job is to work with you to figure out how I can be most effective for you. The main thing I've learned from several years of tutoring both in New York City and here in L.A. is that everyone learns differently - and everyone can learn this stuff. It's just a matter of having a creative and energetic teacher that can find the right method that speaks to you!

Within the last couple years I've tutored math at the high school level (Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-Calc, Calculus AB/BC, Statistics) and the college level (Calculus), as well as test prep in Quantitative Reasoning (SAT and GRE). These are the areas that I'm most comfortable and can be the most effective. I'm more than happy to lend a hand in other related quantitative disciplines, as long as you don't mind a little working our way through it together. I also tutor elementary school kids in general stuff on a volunteer basis :).

Anything else please feel free to ask! I'm happy to discuss my grades, test scores, or anything else that's relevant in my background for you to get an idea of who I am. I live in Santa Monica and work Downtown, and am generally available with advance notice any night during the week (after 6) and on weekends.

I hope to speak with you soon!
