My name is Ali. I grew up in Lake Tahoe, California and then moved to Oregon to attend the University of Oregon where I received my bachelor's degree in human physiology and general science with a minor in chemistry. I received my master's degree in teaching from the University of San Francisco. I am a bilateral below the knee amputee, I utilize prosthetics. Despite this, I was on a ski team for 10 years and I am an avid hiker. Being an amputee allows me a different perspective on the needs of my students than other teachers. I have a deep understanding of what it means to have different needs and how to treat people equitably. I am a motivated, hard working person and I have high expectations of myself and my students. I am constantly looking to improve myself and get better at teaching. I will use feedback from events or conversations with my students to adjust my practice to better suit their needs and help them learn. I love teaching and my passion for learning makes me a great teacher.
