While studying at UC Santa Cruz, I had the privilege of working as a tutor under my mentor and professor Dr. Susan Harding. There, I worked with small groups of students in a discussion section as a Section Leader, maneuvering the students' discussions regarding class material and elaborating on our lectures. During these discussion sections I covered important points from the course, aided students in reading comprehension and writing skills, and helped them discuss material amongst themselves to better understand the course material. My most recent professional tutoring experience was as an Education Coach with Cardinal Education- tutoring a college student and serving as their mentor for the duration of the semester (Fall 2017). During our one-on-one sessions, we discussed class material, personal obstacles, and any trouble they had with writing at the college level. This experience gave me a crucial insight into tutoring and the potential I have as a mentor and tutor for other students going forward. My strongest subjects for tutoring are: English/Literature (AP), Spanish (AP), History (AP), Cultural Anthropology, and Writing (High school and College level).
