I am an Educational Interpreter for the deaf for 3 school districts in the peninsula. I work one on one with deaf students in the mainstream class setting Monday-Friday.
I have been doing this for 7 years as well as other free lance interpreting work including various meetings and performances. ASL is a beautiful language I fell in love with at 14 years old. I was lucky enough to have a high school that offered classes and I never looked back. After volunteering for a year I was hired on full time and love my job.
Being an Educational Interpreter a lot of my job is also aiding and tutoring my students through their classwork and homework. Tutoring ASL as a second language is rewarding and fun as I myself fell in love with it at such a young age.
I have been signing for 14 years now and fully immersed in the language and deaf community for 7 years and I love every second.
I would love to tutor anyone who is interested in learning this beautiful language.
