Qualifications & Experience

Hello,

My name is Charlie K., I finished my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at UCLA, where I conducted computational research in magneto-hydro-dynamic flows for fusion power reactors.

I attended decelerated math in high school, so I understand first hand what it's like to struggle in the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) branches. So how did I turn things around? I was fortunate to begin my studies majoring in education at Union County College (UCC). It was at UCC where I learned that different students learned best with different modes of learning. Equipped with this knowledge, I earned my B.S. in mechanical engineering at Rutgers University and then an M.S. and Ph.D. degree from UCLA.

I have been tutoring math and physics on and off since 2010. In addition, I was a supplemental instructor for Calculus II for several years at UCC and Rutgers University. At UCC, I earned a CRLA certification and received an "outstanding tutor award" in 2009.
