I have been playing music for almost 20 years. In May 2012 I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Pennsylvania State University, where I studied double bass with Professor Robert Nairn, the former President of the International Society of Bassists. In addition to advanced study of classical and jazz, I have toured both the east and west coasts several times with rock and folk rock bands. I have recorded on a wide range of projects, including albums produced by Ron Blair from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Pete Steinkopf from The Bouncing Souls. Since 2007, I have been teaching lessons on double bass, bass guitar and guitar.
I first began giving lessons during my junior year in high school, in 2007. I taught guitar, double bass, and bass guitar after school and over the summers. During my senior year of high school, I was asked to give sectional lessons to the double bassists in the freshman orchestra and was invited to make a guest appearance as a conductor during the final concert. While earning my music degree at Penn State, I took several classes in music education. For a semester I was given the opportunity to lead a preschool class in beginner level music instruction. I continued to teach lessons over the summers, and in 2011 worked as the music specialist at West Hills Day Camp. Since graduating I have given lessons to students of various ages and playing levels in New York City and San Diego.
