My ardent love of writing stemmed at an early age, behind the doors of a small bedroom where I challenged myself to remain calm and collected when my father had one too many drinks. He’d toddle down the hall towards the kitchen just to prop open another beer, while I maneuvered a pen over paper. Words shield me from his enmity, and nurtured my integrity. Now, my voice is the predominant element that defines me; the vehicle I employ to revalorize the construction of my identity, explore who I am and what I can become.
