Pastel Pencil Drawing: Learn to Draw a Barn Owl

1 Unit - 5 video lessons

Part 1- Introduction
In this video, I talked about the pastel pencil for beginners starter pack. I also spoke about the essential materials you need. They include the Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils, color shaper, double-ended eraser, and materials required in sharpening your pencils. You will learn how to transfer our line drawing onto your pastel paper using a Trace down Carbon. For the picture, I used Sand Coloured Fabriano Ingres Paper; this is a great neutral tone and works so well for all kinds of subjects. It is ideal for someone relatively new to pastel pencil work to erase so easily on the paper. I also use Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils and refer to these throughout the course. You can, of course, use any materials that you wish to use.

Background
With pastel pencil, it is always a good idea to put base colors on before using a really strong color. For the background, we will use the side of the white pencil to shade the background, then 168: Earth Green Yellowish over it.
