Create a Low Poly Wolf Using Cinema 4D

1 Unit - 14 video lessons

Introduction
I'm going to take you through the step-by-step process of creating an abstract low poly wolf by modeling it in Cinema 4D. We'll start with a basic 3D shape and then take you through all the tools and skills necessary for the project. Some of the major topics discussed in this course will include basic 3D modeling techniques—importing reference images and adding lighting to the scene on basic rendering techniques. By the end of this course, you would have learned how to create an abstract low poly wolf.
01:17
Using Reference Images
Before we go into the cinema 4D, the first thing we're going to do is to gather some reference images. You are going to Google wolf photos and choose the image of your choice and save the image on your desktop.
00:58
Understanding Cinema 4D
We will do a quick overview of cinema 4D and some of the features we will be using in this course. You will learn how to use the move tool, create a tube, create objects like cones or cylinders, and manipulate the objects.
02:13
Import Reference Images
In this unit, I will take you through how to import images that you have saved from Google to your desktop into cinema 4D.
01:27
Design The Wolf Body
In this unit, I will take you through how to use your reference image and start modeling your Wolf. I will show you the techniques and shape you will use. I will also show you how to use the scale and rotation tool.
08:20
Design The Wolf Tail
Now that we’ve got the body, we will use the techniques we learned in the previous lesson to create a low ponytail in this unit.
04:30
Design The Wolf Head
Now that we've got the tail and body, I'm going to take you through how to model the Wolf's head using the same techniques used for creating the tail and body.
06:17
Design The Wolf Ears and Neck
In this unit, I will take you through how to create the Wolf's ears and neck. You will learn how to create the shapes, scale down the shapes to your desired size and use the move tools.
09:20
Design The Wolf Legs
In this unit, I'm going to take you through how to create the Wolf's legs. The technique is very versatile, and it could be used to create all sorts of shapes and sizes until you are happy with the way your Wolf looks.
11:37
Design The Wolf Paws
In this unit, we are going to create the paws of the Wolf. At the end of this unit, you would have gone through all the different stages and steps to creating a low poly wolf.
06:44
Developing The Background Imagery
In this unit, I will be taking you through how to position the Wolf on a floor and the simple techniques to create a background so you can have something ready to render. You can choose the different colors you want your gradient to be.
03:56
Adding Dimension Through Lighting
In this unit, you will learn how to create some lighting for your render. Look at the setting available to you and experiment around it to see what gives you the best result.
05:08
Render Settings
In this unit, we will be going through some render settings so that you can create the nicest possible picture for your low poly wolf.
01:37
Final Thoughts
We have come to the end of the low poly wolf modeling in Cinema 4D. I hope this course has helped you with modeling and has helped create a good foundation for creating different types of animals and characters in cinema 4D.
